Ballan Industries was created as a personal project to showcase the film model-making work and creative career of my father, Bob Ballan, alongside projects connected to my brother. The goal was to create a brand that felt bold, cinematic, and versatile enough to represent a wide range of creative and technical work.
The challenge was developing an identity that balanced industrial craftsmanship with a polished, professional aesthetic. The approach combined strong typography, cinematic inspiration, and a sleek digital experience to highlight the company’s skills and portfolio.
The result was a cohesive brand and website designed to celebrate creativity, precision, and hands-on craftsmanship.
TThe Ballan Industries logo was inspired by industrial design and Art Deco aesthetics, combining bold typography with structured symmetry to create a timeless and confident identity.
A gold-on-black palette reinforced a premium, cinematic feel while reflecting the precision and professionalism behind the work. The overall system was designed to feel strong, adaptable, and visually memorable across both digital and print applications.
As part of the project, multiple experimental logo variations were created inspired by iconic film franchises and cinematic typography styles. This playful exploration allowed the brand to be reinterpreted through sci-fi, horror, and action-inspired aesthetics while maintaining its industrial character.
The exercise became both a creative tribute to film design and a way to demonstrate the flexibility and personality of the Ballan Industries identity.
The website was designed to showcase Ballan Industries’ work through a clean and visually striking layout. Strong typography, structured sections, and high-contrast visuals helped create a professional experience centred around the portfolio itself.
Responsive layouts ensured the site remained accessible across devices, while the dark colour palette reinforced the cinematic tone established through the branding.
The final project successfully captured the craftsmanship, versatility, and cinematic inspiration behind Ballan Industries. The branding system and website work together to create a professional yet personality-driven presentation of the work.
