About CASS ART

CASS ART approached me to explore a refreshed website concept that better reflected their vibrant creative identity while improving the overall user experience. The aim was to create a visually engaging platform that felt modern, accessible, and aligned with the brand’s mission of supporting artists.

The challenge was balancing strong visual expression with usability. The concept focused on bold layouts, simplified navigation, and content-driven sections that could showcase products, workshops, and community updates in a more engaging way.

Although the project ultimately moved in-house, the concept became a strong exploration of modern retail design within the creative industry.

Branding

A vibrant digital identity designed to reflect creativity and community

The design direction embraced CASS ART’s bold visual language through the use of high-contrast imagery, strong typography, and signature red accents. Clean white space helped balance the layout while allowing featured artwork and promotions to stand out.

The concept stayed closely aligned with the brand’s artistic personality while introducing a more refined and contemporary digital experience.

Web Design

A bold, content-led experience designed for clarity and engagement

The website concept focused heavily on usability without losing the expressive nature of the brand. Streamlined navigation, structured content blocks, and large promotional areas helped create a clearer browsing experience across the site.

One of the more forward-thinking aspects of the project was the exploration of both light and dark modes — an uncommon feature at the time. The idea was to offer users more flexibility while enhancing accessibility and visual comfort depending on browsing conditions.

Outcome

A modern design direction across branding and digital touchpoints

While the final website was developed internally, the project provided an opportunity to explore how a strong retail brand could evolve digitally while maintaining its identity. The concept successfully balanced artistic energy with functional structure, creating a polished and engaging user experience.

It also remains an early example of exploring adaptive interface design through light and dark mode concepts long before they became standard across modern websites.
