A playful, community-driven pottery studio reimagined through brand, digital, and spatial design.
Rainbow Pottery is a local ceramics studio centred around creativity, accessibility, and community.
The project focused on creating a cohesive identity across brand, digital, and spatial touchpoints to better reflect its welcoming and informal atmosphere.
The existing presence lacked consistency, making it difficult to clearly communicate the studio’s personality and appeal to new visitors.
To address this, a flexible identity system was developed balancing playful, expressive visuals with simple, functional design allowing the brand to translate seamlessly across both physical and digital experiences.
A bright and expressive identity designed to capture the studio’s warmth and creativity.
Soft forms, bold colour, and playful composition create a visual language that feels approachable while remaining consistent across applications.
A vibrant gradient was developed to extend the colour palette into a more expressive and dynamic visual element.
Built from the core brand colours, it transitions through bold reds, oranges, greens, blues, and violets capturing the playful and creative energy of the studio.
Used across digital and physical touchpoints, the gradient adds depth, movement, and a distinctive visual signature to the brand.
To bring the brand’s playful and creative spirit to life, a series of illustrated characters known as the Rainbow Friends was developed.
Each character represents elements of the studio, from everyday pottery pieces to seasonal items, creating a flexible and engaging visual language that appeals to both children and adults.
At the centre of the system is Bow, the studio’s primary mascot and a symbol of creativity and inclusivity. Used across both digital and physical touchpoints, the characters add personality, consistency, and a sense of joy to the overall experience.
A simple, welcoming website designed to make exploration and booking intuitive.
The layout prioritises clarity and ease of use, allowing visitors to quickly understand the studio’s offering while reflecting the personality of the brand.
A simple, community-focused marketing approach was developed to establish Rainbow Pottery as a local creative destination.
Social content highlights customer creations and events, encouraging engagement and fostering a sense of community. Supporting materials including flyers and email templates extend the visual identity across key touchpoints.
Combined with organic word-of-mouth, this approach helps attract new visitors while building lasting relationships with the studio’s audience.
The result is a cohesive brand experience across both physical and digital touchpoints.
Rainbow Pottery now presents itself as a clear, welcoming, and creative space helping attract new visitors while strengthening its identity within the local community.
